The Clans
There are nine tribes in total, some get along, and others do not. There is a whole mess of blood feuds that go on and simple it can become confusing at times to keep up with who did what to whom. A lot of the times tribe’s people intermingle on each other’s territories. Either way below will give you some idea about each tribe. You can only belong to one tribe; however you may also be descended from one other tribe. For instance Aria Wurud the currently leader of Bog- Burglers who is quick with her hands is also a decedent of the Hairy Hooligans and thus has an extensive knowledge of dragons and the ability to speak Dragonese. But usually the only mixes that would work is if the tribes are on friendly terms with each other.
Each tribe has their own rite of passage to become an official member of the clan. Generally these right of passages take place at the age of sixteen. Otherwise most children of the tribe are with their birth tribe; most of the time children go on to become members of their birth tribe but that is not always the case.
Blood Fueds come and go and the allegiance between one tribe with the other can change; any updates will be posted as a news bulletin.
• Note that some of this is taken from the books other parts I am simply taking creative control on.
Bashem Oiks
Tribe Symbol: A Gronckle with an axe in its mouth.
Location: The Island of Quiet Life
Allies: Hairy Hooligans, Hysterics,
Blood-Feuds: Meatheads, Outcasts, Bog- Burglars, Murderous Tribe, Lava Louts
Bashem Oiks are known for their blacksmithing skills, no one can bend metal or earth quite like a Bashem. Along with being handy with metal they are tough as rocks. They can take a hit like no other Viking and to out endure a Bashem is a feat to be proud of indeed. This group of Vikings are hard to anger yet more stubborn then a mule.
To become a Bashem most have to either create a wondrous work of art or weaponry or accomplish something that takes a great act of endurance.
Bashem Abilities
- They are able to endure through most physical taxing tasks and often have the strength to do so. They also have the patients to do long monotonous tasks.
o They take their time doing any task, so they are not the quickest bunch.
o You can never rush a Bashem

Berserker Tribe
Location: Beserk
Allies/ Blood-Feuds: The Berserker tribe is the only neutral tribe; frankly most people want to leave the Berserkers alone.
The Berserker tribe is described to be a group of insane Vikings who have a proud history of being fierce warriors. They are commonly found around the Uglithug Territories and can easily be picked out by the fact they often wear a lot of chains and pad locks. This is to help control them if they go into berserker mode by accident. The Berserker tribe also has a history of preforming human sacrifices, offering victims to The Beast.
To be an official member of the Berserker Tribe you have to prove you have the Berserker blood running through you. Most common method is trail by combat; however that is not always the case.
Beserker Abilities
- Able to go into a trance like fury; when in this state they are able to fight even while suffering an injury which may slow others down significantly. They also seem to gain an extra bit of strength while in this state as well.
o When in this state they cannot be reasoned with and must be incapacitated in order to stop.
o Often injure themselves further causing a longer recovery rate.
o Have to be worked up into a rage to reach this state.
o Does not last very long and cannot go into a rage more than two or three times in a given day.

Bog-Burglars
Tribe symbol: Three Changewings in a circle.Location: Bog- Burglar Islands
Allies: Hairy Hooligans, Meat Heads, Hysterics, 1*Lava Louts, Murderous Tribe
Blood-Feuds: Hairy Hooligans*2, Outcasts, Bashem Oiks
1*Won’t attack them but they certainly don’t like them, but being a predominately female group they will take the extra muscle when needed.
2*This is a love hate relationship; aka won’t be attacked on site.
The Bog-Burglars like there name are known for their canny ability to make things disappear. This tribe is predominantly female and are on friendly rivalry terms with the Hairy Hooligan tribe. They have perfected the art of thievery and are very quick and nimble on their feet. They are not the strongest of the tribes however they are quick and they are smart.
To become a Bog- Burglar one must prove they are capable thieves. Usually passing a test set up by a group of Elders; often it is stealing something from a treasure hording dragon!
Bog- Burgerlers Abilities
- Stealth, a Bog Burglar is one of the stealthiest Vikings you will come across. They can pass by unseen in most places.
o Being sneaky requires the ability to be nimble, quick, and quiet so they are defiantly not the largest strongest Vikings around.
o They are certainly quick at coming up with a plan or talking their way out of many situations….but considering their special set of skills they are not the most trusted bunch.

Hairy Hooligans
Tribe Symbol: A Night Fury within a flame.Location: Isle of Berk
Allies: Bog-Burglars*, Bashem Oiks, Hysterics
Blood-Feuds: Bog-Burglars*, Lava Louts, Murderous Tribe, Outcasts, Meat Heads
*Friendly Rivalry to which the Burglars more often than not win
The Hairy Hooligan tribe is predominately male usually woman belong to other tribes however there are a couple fierce Hooligan Women. The Hairy Hooligan tribe is known for their fiercely brave and cunning warriors. They are often great thinkers when it comes to battle strategy. They are known for their expertise when dealing with dragons around the Barbaric Archipelago.
In times of great strife when multiple tribes needed to band together, the Hairy Hooligan clan leader historically is generally the one the other tribes look to as a leader. *
To become a Hairy Hooligan you must be able to capture and kill a dragon; those who fail to finish the deed are kicked from the tribe.
• In this rp the players will decide; so this is not set in stone.
Hairy Hooligan Abilities
- Dragonese, while not being able to fully communicate Hairy Hooligans have a knack for understanding dragons behaviors. Making them extremely capable dragon hunters. Dragons can understand what a Hairy Hooligan is saying most of the time, so often they are curiously drawn to them…a dangerous mistake to make.
o Since dragons are able to understand them but not always the other way around this causes some communication strife….and the fact that the hooligans keep killing them off Dragons have targeted Berk as one of their favorite pillaging grounds.
o Often draw unwanted attention from their reptilian neighbors.
o They do have a keen eye for detail.

Lava Louts ( Limited spots 12)
Tribe Symbol: A curled up Red Hot Itchy Worm * Appears to be a red snake and is often tattooed somewhere hidden so it is not displayed prominently. Location: Varied, they fled their home island long ago, so often this rare tribe will roam from tribe to tribe as a mercenary posed as someone from a different tribe.

* Allies for the louts is a loose term, if you’re an ally basically that means you’re not as likely to be spirited away.
A small but very wealthy tribe, Lava louts come from a volcanic island, and they have special suits made from dragon skin. These suites cover their body completely; even there cloaks are made from dragon skin. They are sneaky and cunning; they come and go under the guise of a mercenary. However they are known Slave Traders and keepers. They often are hired out by clans that favor slavery for new stock.
To become a Lava Lout first you must find there leader; and of course bring some new stock with you.
Lava Lout Abilities:
- Fire walk, the suites and cloaks that they are known to make are mostly fire proof. Not just anyone can take a dragon skin and make it so that it protects the wearers from flames. Apparently there is some special method they use to make it so the skin retains this ability. Depending on which type of dragon skin the suit is made of the user gets an ability enhanced.
o Stoker Class = The ability to set the suit on fire
o Boulder Class= Thick armor
o Striker= Slightly enhanced reflexes
o Sharp= Usually the suit has sharp spines that can shoot out of the arms or be used as a weapon.
o Tidal Class= This skin does not protect the wearer from flames, however it will allow the wearer to dive into deeper water than most, with special air packets that allow them to dive longer as well. It also keeps the wearer warm while in the frigid waters.
o Mystery Class= Has the ability change colors to semi blend into the background; if they move the ability ends.
o Fear Class= Instead of flames the wearer is able to withstand really cold temperatures; or attacks from a dragon with icy breath.
A Lava Lout may only have one suit.

Meathead Tribe
Tribe Symbol: A Terrible Terror Location: Meat Head Islands south of Berk
Allies: *Hairy Hooligans, Bashem Oiks*, Bog- Burglars, Hysteric
Blood-Feuds:*Hairy Hooligans, Lava Louts, Outcasts, Murderous tribe , Bashem Oiks*,
*Small rivalry, but allowed back and forth.
The Meathead tribe is an interesting one, they are not fighters but lovers…as much as a Viking can be. They are an intellectual bunch, being good with numbers, or other crafts. While they may not rival the metal work of the oinks there handy work is well known. Meatheads are considered a jack of all trades but masters of none. You will often find a Meathead working in a library, or herding sheep or other farming tasks or scholarly tasks. There clan originally was a part of the Hairy Hooligan tribe but were cast out by the tribe when unable to accomplish the rite of passage. Thus the Meat Heads are one of the only few who do not have a traditional rite of passage.
To become a member of the Meat Heads is pretty easy….well sort off the only condition is that you had to fail a rite of passage from another clan.
Meat Head Abilities
- Survival, seeing how they don’t have brawns or sneakiness on their side, Meatheads generally prove to be the best person to have on your side when it comes to surviving. These people will always know which plants to eat, how to make the best shelters, or how to grow the best crops. Or even how to get the best trade. They also have a vast knowledge of the land and make the best navigators.
- They often also have companion animals; cats, dogs, birds of prey, horses, and other livestock.

Blood-Feuds: Hairy Hooligans, Meat Heads, Hysteric
The Murderous tribe will keep to themselves, they are a close knit clan that does not allow those from other clans in. They have perfected the art of killing and have a vast knowledge of poisons. They are quick and nimble like the Burglars only with deadly intentions. This clan makes its armor from the bones of their victims, often with a dragon skull as their helm. Since they live on an island with immensely high peaks they have taken the tradition of enslaving docile dragons to use as transportation.
To become a Murderous tribe member you must first be of pure blood; second you have to have a complete suit of armor to be considered a full-fledged member.
Murderous Tribes Abilities
- Deadly Prick, murderous tribe members are trained in the art of poisoned needles, they usually have deadly accuracy when shooting their darts. Coupled with the fact that they are only rivaled by the Bog Burglars in the art of stealth.
o This group is also known to be mostly nocturnal
o Highly prideful of their pure blood line.
o Brought up to have trust issues.

The Hysteric Tribe

Location: Hysteria
Allies: Bog Burglar’s, Hairy Hooligans, Meatheads, Bashim Oiks.
Blood-Feud: Outcasts, Murderous Tribe, Lava Louts
Typically this is where all the tribes send their members who have simply gone mad, frankly the natives of the island the original Hysteric Tribe welcomes most of them for their unique ideas. However some are simply to mad to have around and are usually kept locked up. Some Hysterics are actually brilliant minds, they are quick to think up gadgets and such and often come up with new inventions. Frankly they are usually too busy with their tinkering to go out and cause trouble and the only reason they have any feuds is due to some of the members being outed by their own clans.
Sometimes brilliant minds get sent here simply because their world was not yet ready to accept their brilliance. These people are easy to pick out since they’ll likely be the top of the food chain on their crazy little island.
To become a Hysteric you have to be a little of kilter to begin with, and you also have to be sent there via another tribe.

The Outcast Tribe

Blood Feud: Everyone Else
The Outcast tribe is feared and hated by almost every other tribe out there, they are a group of cannibalistic Vikings with a thirst for blood. Their goals often are aimed at enslaving other tribes, and often eating the leader and heir as a part of their ritual. A way to spot an outcast is they often file their teeth into sharp points. A down side to them is members of this tribe can often be pretty one track minded, stopping at nothing once they have set it as their goal. If you happen to get caught by an Outcast good luck getting away, they have keen vision often used to spot a possible escapey. They have close relations with the Lava Louts, them being the main suppliers of their meals. To an Outcast human flesh is a delicacy, for it gives them almost berserker like strength with all of the control.
To become an Outcast you must partake in the ritual of flesh, basically they capture or choose a slave and partake on its flesh.
Outcast Abilities
- Vicious Bite is an ability which outcasts gain from eating human flesh, for they believe that human flesh gives them strength. It usually works them up into a rage like state much like the Berserkers only with all of the control; making them that more deadly.
o Slaves are often used much like cattle
o Slaves come either from other tribes or the unfortunate members who fail to pass their rite of passage.
